PREFACE: First there was James Watt, who greatly improved the STEAM ENGINE. Then, Nikolaus Otto made the 4-STROKE ENGINE, and soon after the 2-CYCLE ENGINE by Dugald Clerk, Joseph Day, Karl Benz, and Alfred Scott. Then Felix Wankel with his WANKEL ROTARY. And since then a number of experimental engines with levers, fulcrums, arms, gears, and other ideas have been tried, usually not commercially viable. Now, our inventor Maynard L. Moore offers the NEXT generation of engines, the MOORE ROTARY ENGINE.

ROTARY NON-EXPANDING LINEAR CHAMBER VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT VARIABLE POWER LONG BURN MULTIPLE IMPULSE ENGINE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The idea, concept, design, and creative research and work on this Rotary Internal Combustion Engine and it’s Pyramidal Chambers is my own creation and no other person or persons have given ideas, help, innovation, or conception of the invention or in it’s creation.  Maynard L. Moore 4/19/2019                          UPDATE: PATENTED!!

BASIC DESCRIPTION: An engine design of a rotating, pistonless, non-reciprocating internal combustion engine using spark, laser, flame or compression ignition. An attached air compressor possibly of a twin screw design feeds pressurized air to air injectors, supplying the rotor combustion chambers for combustion and purging exhaust gases after pressures have subsided. The rotor chambers are designed to allow for an efficient usage of combustion pressure via a (repeatable) stroke length of approximately 2.0”-10.0” or more/less and are designed to accommodate multiple chambers around the rotor circumference allowing each chamber to produce multiple and/or simultaneous firing impulses per revolution using a variety of fuels. The engine could consist of any number of rotor vanes or chambers, and be of any acceptable diameter to maximize torque output.

  • No electric starter motor required on most sizes
  • Smaller battery requirements
  • Less moving parts
  • Less total engine parts
  • Lower friction loss
  • Lower heat loss
  • Lower pumping loss
  • Lower emissions due to efficient chamber pressure
  • Smaller physical size/power ratio
  • Higher engine power/weight ratio
  • Higher fuel economy with lower necessary RPM
  • Much increased engine durability
  • Lower manufacturing expense
  • Perfect for Start-Stop and Hybrid applications
  • Fine-tune A/F mix in chamber ie:L,R,L
  • Chamber pressure adaptable to very low octane fuel
  • Design adapts to other fossil fuels
  • Internal oil cooler in block
  • Minimal oil & coolant leak points
  • Perfect for long warranty term/lower costs
  • Extremely smooth operation
  • Lower oil capacity requirement
  • Suitable for HCCI (auto ignite) or compression ignition operation
  • Longer oil change frequency
  • Highly suitable for CVT transmission
  • Possible spark ignition diesel w/ or w/o a gasoline blend
